In the 1983 edition of the Bathurst 1000 Phil Alexander teamed up with Ron Gillard in a Mazda RX7 supported by Tokico Gas Shocks. After a disastrous 82 great race they returned with an upgraded RX7 with a watts link rear end made by Wally Story.  This transformed the car and the finished 9th outright.

Some have said this is the most successful RX7 to race at Bathurst as it never finished lower than 9th in three great races.

This is Ron and Phil’s 1983 version of the giant killing Group C RX7.

The current owner of this car is Chad Parrish.

  2. Use standard washing powder only; it is not recommended that fabric softeners be used as they may strip the coloured ink.
  3. Do not bleach or use bleaching agents of any kind.
  4. Wash garment inside out.
  5. Do not tumble dry.
