"Captain" Peter Janson is an Australian socialite and former motor racing driver. Janson was born in New Zealand, emigrating to England at a young age. In 1967, he moved to Australia and settled in Melbourne.
Peter Janson and Larry Perkins #19 Re-Car Cadbury Schweppes Holden A9X finished in 2nd place in the 1979 Hardie-Ferodo Bathurst 1000.
The car started life as a factory race car body shell built for Bob Forbes’ Le Mans 24 Hour project that was abandoned in early 1978.
The car was recently sold to a collector for nearly a million dollars. Its in remarkable condition for its age and has all the original running gear.
